Grass Skippers
Appearance: Antennae are short with black and white concentric rings and black clubs. Above, orange with wide black borders on both forewing and hindwing. Below, forewing is black with orange borders at tip and leading edge; hindwing yellow-orange. Wings are rounded; flight is weak.
Wingspan: Small; 7/8 to 1 1/8 inches.
Habitat: Wet open areas with tall grasses, marshes, meadows, ditches, slow streams; plains.
Flight Times: June through September; 2 broods.
Larval Foodplant: Various grasses.
