Appearance: Below, green with a nearly straight white postmedian line (“white-lined” population); above, pale to dark brown.

Size: Small; 3/4 to 7/8 inch

Habitat: Open hillsides, canyon slopes and washes

Season: Early Spring (April to May)

Larval Foodplant: Various species of Buckwheat (Eriogonum)

Did You Know…
One of the earliest spring-emerging species and often found on Salt-and-Pepper (Lomatium orientale) locally.
